Merry Christmas! Feliz Navidad! God provided our safe travel back home from Nevada in time to decorate for Christmas.
Now to Him who is able to do exceedingly abundantly above all we ask or think, according to the power that works in us, to Him be glory in the church by Christ Jesus to all generations, forever and ever. Amen. Ephesians 3:20-21 NKJV
Remember it is God’s spirit dwelling in us that does the work (John 14:10). We are all co-laborers with Christ.

Mission Report:
David and I (with Mom in the RV together) moved for several months to Mesquite, NV to help Mesquite Christian Academy reorganize after losing half of their families during the COVID-19 lockdowns.
While we were there, we gave their paperwork, handbooks and state compliance documents a refresh (they still have work to do in this area) and brought their curriculum in line with ACCS standards. We celebrated Reformation Day (photos) and started training new and returning teachers.

While it was an exciting mission, it came to an end as far as living in NV when the board continued to operate as a church run school despite our advice to declare themselves as such or diversify their faculty. With a few other non-negotiable course corrections not met, we resigned as onsite administrators and returned to our home base. Our mission partner Dr. Greg Bliss will continue to support MCA’s upper school with the Ignitia online curriculum since they now have no teachers on site who are qualified by state law to teach upper school (NV requires at least a bachelor’s degree). We also will continue the teacher training program online through Kepler Education (Christy Anne and Dr. Bliss wrote the coursework -- https://kepler.education/t/christy.vaughan/?tab=courses ).
Work continues in Lima, Peru at Yo Soy Jesus school run by Abigail’s family, although international travel is still difficult. God continues to bless the work in that Independencia district in Christian education. In September, we received a generous donation toward the school’s mortgage and to bless three families in need. Also, the school year is about to end and the kids will be back in March 2022. The Government is encouraging the schools to slowly reopen for 2022 following strict protocols. We are praying for God to provide the means to buy portable sinks for a safe return to class. We will offer two modes of teaching; virtual and hybrid. Please join us in prayer for more families to come to the Yo Soy Jesús school.
We also recently sent the Spanish translation of Dr. Perrin’s handbook on classical education to the publisher’s committee for reprinting. This will be useful not only in Peru, but in Dominican Republic, Mexico and other Spanish speaking areas as well.
In January, CCEI will help host a community information gala for Geneva Academy in Bellefontaine, Ohio, featuring speaker Headmaster Steve Schultz from Grace Christian Academy, Long Island. We have ordered ball point pens with the schools’ contact information to give out at the event. David and I will attend and help in any way we can with promotion and implementation.
In early November, we were able to attend the Missions Conference at Real Life Church Port Saint Lucie (https://kurtowen.com/teaching-archive/) as well as witness and celebrate the wedding of Mission Partner Mary Bonelli to Chris Casanova. Fellow Missionary (Missionary Ventures International) Brian Mark Weller performed the marriage ceremony in Fort Lauderdale, FL.
CCEI Board Members Abigail and Joel Trouse also added a new mission partner to their family October 4, baby Nathan Elijah Trouse, just about a month before Mary’s wedding.

Grace Christian Academy in NY on Long Island is having an extremely difficult time recruiting qualified Christian teachers in the current government climate. Please pray for hearts and minds to be changed.
